Precast Fascia & Topouts
Applications | Precast Fascia & Topouts
The Reinforced Earth Company supplies a variety of engineered precast products for use in highway, railway, commercial, industrial, residential, and military applications.
Precast fascia panels can be designed for use on soil nail walls, soldier/sheet pile walls, drilled shaft/secant pile walls as well as for architectural treatments for abutments and other cast-in-place structures.
Precast topouts for Reinforced Earth® MSE walls are designed to meet project specific loading and impact requirements and are available as copings, half connectors and traffic barriers/parapets. In section, the precast coping unit is an inverted letter U, and is generally used atop MSE structures with a sloping surcharge or railing for pedestrian loading and across the face of abutment walls. The half connector unit is similar to the coping unit but is utilized for structures adjacent to roadways and is designed for vehicular impact loads. Reinforcing bars protrude from the top and base of the unit, where a cast-in-place parapet/barrier and moment slab are constructed; slip forming of the parapet/barrier section is possible. Precast traffic barriers/parapets are also place atop structures adjacent to roadways and are designed for vehicular impact loads, however the barrier/parapet section is precast where reinforcing bars protrude only from the base of the unit and a cast-in- moment slab is constructed. Before installing any precast unit the top of the Reinforced Earth MSE wall must be smooth and free of steps or irregularities. To accomplish this, level-up concrete fill is cast on top of the panels.
