- T-Wall®The Sand Creek Corridor runs through the center of Newton, KS. Built by the Corps of Engineers in the 1960s, it was designed to alleviate flooding problems. The T-WALL® Retaining Wall System was selected to restore the corridor and surrounding ecosystem. The restoration encompassed 1.7 miles of the corridor and included bank restoration, the creation of 35-acres of wetlands, and two hardwood tree planting areas. Native grasses were planted along the creek.
