From 2011 to 2015, RECo participated in a major reconstruction of an intersection in the heart of Gainesville, Va, a very fast-growing area outside of Washington, D.C. The reconstruction allowed traffic to flow more continuously along Route 29 as it passes by Gainesville commercial areas, a major railroad, and Interstate 66. The project involved unique MSE wall geometry, phased construction with temporary wire mesh MSE walls, cast-in-place crash walls along the railroad, and wall heights rivaling the adjacent commercial buildings.
