This project, finished in 2012, featured a Piano Wall™ MSE retaining wall functioning as grade separation for a ramp exiting I-575. The 335-foot long wall combined wall facing with traffic barrier, which eliminated the need to install separate barrier and moment slab on top of the wall.
2 Reinforced Earth® bridge abutments were built in phases using the GeoTrel™ temporary wire mesh MSE wall system.
In addition, two Reinforced Earth® bridge abutments were built in phases using the GeoTrel™ temporary wire mesh MSE wall system. The wire wall divided the abutment in half for a temporary period, allowing half of the bridge to remain open at all times. A third Reinforced Earth wall on the interchange faces a residential area and was designed to incorporate a structure-mounted sound wall.
