Sound Barriers/Noise Walls
Sound barriers block noise from traveling between adjacent sites, most commonly used to separate highway traffic noise from residential areas.
Depending on the material, sound barriers can also be used in security applications. The wall height depends on the trajectory and level of the noise. A variety of materials can be used depending on whether the sound should be absorbed or deflected.
Sound walls can be ground-mounted or structure-mounted. In addition to wind and other required loading conditions, all of these factors and noise sources contribute to what type of sound wall is most economical at a given location. RECo supplies two types of ground-mounted noise walls, in addition to accommodating structure-mounted sound walls on precast traffic barrier.
Applications include:
- Sound mitigation
- Wind mitigation
- Security or protection (entry and ballistics)
